The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers for their dedicated efforts to recruit, hire, and retain American veterans. Recipients of the award must meet several criteria, including veteran hiring and retention rates and the availability of veteran-specific resources, leadership programs, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance. Requirements vary for large, medium, and small employers.
