Planate Management Group continues to expand its 3D photogrammetry scanning services to support Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) facilities. Recently, Sampson, Director of Supply Chain Logistics, and Lauren Whetstone, Facility and Space Planner, led a successful data collection effort at two BIE campuses: Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School in Hayward, Wisconsin, and Fond du Lac Ojibwe School in Cloquet, Minnesota.

The team completed the on-site work during an intensive 10-day effort in late March. During this period, they performed more than 1,000 high-resolution 3D scans and captured over 11 billion data points. The team then converted this data into accurate 3D point-cloud models and updated as-built drawings. These deliverables reflect current facility layouts, conditions, and building systems.

These 3D models give planners and engineers clear visibility into above-ceiling and concealed spaces. As a result, teams can analyze existing conditions more accurately. In turn, they can improve space planning and create discipline-specific technical drawings with confidence.

In the accompanying images, Lauren Whetstone and Jim Taggart actively position 3D scanners above ceiling tiles. Through this process, the team captures critical facility systems that staff cannot see from floor level.

Meanwhile, Enesh, Deputy Vice President of Engineering Services, continues to lead efforts to expand Planate’s 3D photogrammetry scanning services across additional BIE campuses. Together, these initiatives strengthen facility planning, modernization, and long-term maintenance for tribal education facilities.

Ultimately, through advanced scanning technology and hands-on expertise, Planate delivers accurate, data-driven solutions that support the future of educational infrastructure.
